Category Manager -  Peoples Drug Mart 
We are currently seeking a Category Manager for Head Office in Burnaby, British Columbia.  Selected candidate will be responsible for managing category vendor relations, coop advertising budgets, planogram strategies and store-owner communications with regards to vendor initiatives.

Your background in the retail industry, preferably with drug store experience, will enable you to take a leading role in our office to build our market presence, our consumer base, and satisfy an insatiable thirst by our retail store owners and managers for industry leading ideas, products and programs!

Responsibilities include:

• Meeting and communicating with vendors to negotiate and manage all programs within your product categories.
• Analyzing and strategizing with vendors to reach and exceed promotional coop budgets
• Take the lead in implementing programs within your categories that you have developed, and conduct regular vendor reviews to ensure these programs are growing our business.
• Identify new opportunities, present to the Advertising and Marketing team within our office, and be prepared to see them to completion.
• Being prepared to present ideas, results and analysis to Senior Management.
• Creating and delivering presentations to groups of people.
• Some travel.

 Preferred Qualifications/Experience:

• 7 or more years experience in a complex retail business environment
• General understanding of Retail Drug Store operations – preferably 3 years of related experience
• Category experience in one or more areas including: health and beauty, over-the-counter drugs and cough-cold, confectionary, or similar related retail categories.
• Diploma or Degree preferred
• Sourcing/procurement experience, statistical analysis, excellent communication skills
• Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Strong Team Player
