.....The Order of Canada is the centrepiece of Canada’s Honours System and recognizes a lifetime of outstanding achievement, dedication to the community and service to the nation. The Order recognizes people in all sectors of Canadian society. Their contributions are varied, yet they have all enriched the lives of others and made a difference to this country.
.....Peoples Pharmacist Naz Rayani was awarded the Order of Canada in December 2006 for his tireless community work. The Peoples group is extremely proud to have Naz Rayani as a member of its family of community pharmacy owner operators, as Naz Rayani truly embodies Peoples credo of “Helping People Live Better Lives”
.....Ian Maxwell. CEO of Peoples Drug Mart comments: “Naz Rayani has been a tremendous owner operator with Peoples Drug Mart. He is entrepreneurial, outgoing, and above all else, community focused. As long as I have known Naz, he has always been involved in charity. The first time I saw Naz helping others was when he was helping organize a charity walk for the BC Heart & Stroke Foundation – Stride for Heart. In more recent years, Naz has been the engine behind the World Partnership Walk in Victoria. It is Naz’s honest belief that he can make a difference in the world and help the less fortunate, which led to his recognition and the awarding of the Order of Canada. The recognition is a really deserving honour for Naz, but he couldn’t have done the things he did, if it weren’t for his Ismaili faith and the support of his wife Yasmine. Naz & Yasmine, we are all so proud of you for helping the less fortunate people of the world! You really are Helping People Live Better Lives.” |
