digest the food you eat. Ask your Physician if this option could be detrimental to your heartburn condition. If you do decide to try this product, start with a low dose. Take one tablet, usually a 600mg strength, with your largest meal. If you notice any discomfort or burning, discontinue use of this supplement. You can increase the dosage by one or two tablets, with a large meal, until you reach about 6-7 tablets daily, reduce your dosage as soon as you notice any warmth or burning. Use this supplement with caution because it can sometimes worsen your heartburn symptoms.
.....The other way to help treat heartburn is to reduce stomach acid content. The best treatment for mild and infrequent
heartburn is calcium carbonate tablets (Tums, Rolaids, etc). These products neutralize stom clusters, the nicotine gum or inhaler might be a better idea. These products will provide you with nicotine only when you needed it. Ask your Peoples Pharmacist about the proper technique for using the nicotine gum or inhalers. These products are not as straightforward as they might appear to be.
.... Here are a few more words of advice. If you must smoke immediately upon waking up or smoke just before bed, you should consult your physician before deciding to quit. This indicates a strong physical addiction and you may require prescription medications. Don’t get discouraged if you are unable to quit
at your first attempt. This is not unusual. Learn where your plan (NOT YOU) went wrong and tryagain next month. People often succeed after a few attempts. Once you are smoke free, constantly remind yourself and the people around you, that you are a nonsmoker. Also, after one month give yourself a small reward for quitting smoking; perhaps a nice dinner out or a new iPod. Then promise yourself a larger reward after six months. Use the money you saved to go on vacation; you earned it and deserve it. Good luck.

The BCPGA Golf-A-Thon
for ALS

The BCPGA Golf-A-Thon for ALS is different from other golf fundraising events in that the Pros of participating BCPGA Courses golf from sunrise to sunset to raise money for the ALS Society of BC.

The Golf Community became aware of ALS when Tom Watson’s caddy Bruce Edwards was diagnosed with ALS and later passed away. The idea of a Golf A Thon came about when three friends (a golf pro, Rotarian and an ALS Patient) were sharing a coffee at Glacier Green Golf Course discussing their concern for the lack of awareness about ALS, and the need to raise funds to support the equipment loan program provided by the ALS Society of BC.
